Publications with a multitude of pieces sometimes have a thematic index which gives for each piece the first few bars (incipits) and the page, sometimes together with the title.

It is entirely possible to engrave such pages with SCORE, however this process can now be automated with SipThema to a large extent, and as such is saving time while assuring a standard format of thematic index pages.

Each incipit has the same output length and elements are proportionally spaced. An output page has up to 26 themes in two columns of up to 13 themes. Some amount of layout planning is required prior to using this program. A control file is to be set up (parameter file) to tell the program which elements from which SCORE files need to be selected and arranged.

An example is given herewith which is taken from an actual publication.(*) Some post editing was done in SCORE.
